Photo Fun with Susan!

This past Saturday we went to Joshua Tree National Park to have our pictures taken by Susan at Short on Words!  She was such a nice, patient, and talented person.  I have been so happy since we found out we won her Inspire Me giveaway.  The deal was we were to go to Orange County but when she found out that we lived in 29 Palms she wanted to come here and take the photos in Joshua Tree, which Im glad because that place is so awesome and the boys really like it there.

We had a lot of fun taking the photos, we got to just be ourselves and have fun.  With 3 boys, its hard to make them sit and just smile for picture after picture for an hour or so.  She let the boys run around, climb rocks, ride bikes, battle with light sabers, and even play catch with Dad!  The day was perfect, sunny weather, low winds, and hardly a cloud in the sky.

To most people this may not seem like a big deal, which is what I told Susan, but to us it means so much more.  She is capturing a time in our lives that we will get to cherish for years and not to mention that we will be able to show our families these great photos back in Oklahoma.  Being in the military, we hardly ever get to see our families and the one thing they love more then anything is getting new pics of the boys, this time it will be photos of ALL of US!!!

We truly cannot Thank You enough for giving us this great opportunity Susan!!!

She posted a sneek peek on here!

San Diego, CA 2010

A few weeks ago we went to San Diego to have a mini weekend vacation with our friends the Romkowske family.  Im just now posting the pics from that weekend because when we got home I was sick for a few days then with the hustle of moving this weekend, well, I just been kinda busy.  We had so much fun that weekend though, even though Saturday it rained all day loooong!  We managed to make the best of it and have some fun.

We started off by going to the Childrens Museum in downtown San Diego.  It was a super cute museum but really for the younger ones, so Markus, 11, really did not enjoy it too much.  He just helped his lil brother Jake with stuff, hehehe!

Here are the boys on the chariots.

Playing with clay.

Jeremy making "Randall" from Monsters, Inc.

Me and the boys goofing around.

After the museum we walked to the Hard Rock Cafe!

After dinner, we walked to the Horton Plaza Mall to do some shopping for us girls!  This is what the boys did while we shopped, played chess.

The next day, it was absolutely beautiful outside! So, we headed to Coronado Island and had lunch and of course did some more shopping! Then we hit up the beach! This is the bridge we had to drive over to get to the island, I was freaking out driving over the bridge!

Tom and Elyse checking out the beach!

Jeremy and Jake taking a stroll to the water.

He is just taking in the whole view! It was beautiful!!!

Me and Jeremy.

The Romkowske family, it was impossible to get the girls to look at the camera...HA!

The Shea family

Me and my good friend Andrea!

The kids, well we tried to get a good pic but it was not happening, look at each of their faces!  That was not planned either! Im serious, we kept telling them to look and smile, nope they did not want to! HAHA!!!

It was a fun weekend and we cant wait to go back when the weather warms up a bit so we can actually get in the ocean!

Daily Photo-"oh the life of a pitcher"

I have decided that Im going to start posting a daily photo to my blog.  I have so many that I want to share, so Ill do one a day.  These will be my photography work.  I started taking pictures when I had kids and over the years I have learned to work my camera and have researched on how to take better shots.  I am not a professional at all but I do enjoy it and I will continue to get better.  I will also love to have people critic my work.  Like I said I want to get better so I need judgement.

Todays photo of the day is called "oh the life of a pitcher".  This is my oldest son Markus, he was having a really tough game and the game was really close.  Im pretty sure they ended up winning but honestly I cant remember.  This was also taken the night I got my new camera so I was just messing around with it that night trying to figure it out.  So its kinda grainy looking, I know, but its been one of my favorite photos.

2010 New Years Resolutions

Kelly is doing a fun post about New Years Resolutions and I thought I would share a few of my own.  I dont normally pick a resolution, just because I dont want to set myself up for failure.  However, last year I set a goal, and i fulfilled it!  So this year im setting a few and I have good feeling about them.  So here they are:

1. Stick to my financial budget!
2. Start putting more money into savings so in case of emergencies we are not relying on credit cards.
3. Be a better wife to my husband.  There are days when I have a bad day and as soon as he comes home from work, I throw it all at him.  I want to get those feelings back that I once has about him.  We will be married for 10 years in July, and I feel like over the past few years we kinda drifted apart, so I want us to get closer and find that spark again.
4. Pray more!

These are simple things to some people but these are things I really want to get better or just improve.  Ill keep you all up to date on how Im doing.  What are you goals for 2010?

Its that time of the year again...

November is the time of the year for the Marine Corps Ball.  Lately I been thinking about what kind of dress Im going to wear.  It got me thinking about my past dresses and what colors I havent wore yet.  Well, while I was doing my searching, I came across some pictures.

This is Ball-2003, Primm, Nevada

This is ball 2004, Okinawa, Japan

This is ball-2005, Okinawa, Japan

This is ball-2008, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

2001-couldnt afford to buy pictures
2002-pictures were ruined by photography company
2006-Jeremy was at Recruiter school, I went with friends (didnt buy pics)
2007-my dress was horrible, so I didnt want to post the pic, hair and makeup were bad too!

By far, my favorite colors to wear are black!  I really want to wear black again, but I need some opinions on what you all think.  Help me out and leave a comment on what colors you like and style you think I should wear.  I alway start planning in september so Im not rushing to find a dress at the last minute.

Simple pregnancy gift!!!

Yes, thats right, my little sister is expecting a baby!!!! It will be her second.  Well, with everything going on in my life, I kinda feel like I havent shown the excitement to my lil sis about her pregnancy.  I think she probably feels like I dont care, but that is wrong, I really do care.  So, I decided that I would get her a little something, just to let her know that I do care, I am happy for her and somethings that she can use.  So, I put together a little basket for her.  It was super easy, very cheap, and its super cute.

The basket I already had, I just painted the "r" on it with some acrylic paint I had.

A must have, lotion and decaf coffee!  Not used together, of course!

Whole wheat crackers, for them morning sickness mornings.

A jar of pickles, that I cleaned out, free hand painted the "R", wrapped a ribbon around, and added some mints!

There is also another jar, filled with chocolates, of course!!!

All together I only spent about $10, and that was to purchase the candies, lotion, coffee, and crackers all from the Dollar Store!  I cant wait to give it to her!!!
